Austin, Texas - December 1, 2007
‘Gods and Other Odd Creatures- As the Greeks & Romans Saw Them’ is a light-hearted look at Greek
and Roman gods and at how these gods were perceived and interpreted by their believers. Rose approaches
this subject with tongue in cheek and informs with humor and thoroughness.
She handles the subject with skill and flourish and expertly
conveys the balance of cynicism and reverence with which the
Greeks and Romans viewed their gods.
‘Gods and Other Odd Creatures' is scheduled for a January, 2008,

Martha Hannah & Larry Dowell Participate in the SCBWI Winter Book Fair
at Barnes & Noble Lakeline
Austin, Texas -
November 20, 2007
Warm and inviting, Lakeline’s cosmopolitan Barnes & Noble was the perfect location for the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators Winter Book Fair on November 18th and for
Martha and Larry to sign copies of their book, ‘The Ghost of Hampton Court’.
The signing tables surrounded the café. Fragrances of warm gourmet coffee wafted over
them while they chatted with a great mix of wonderful interesting and literate people including Albertina and Sigrid from Italy and Germany (which made
Martha and Larry homesick for European travels). Retired teacher and Wheeling, West Virginia native, Karen dropped by to talk. Excited about
their book and their arts-in-education participatory teaching, Karen also loved the approach of Larry’s amazing illustrations in our book.
Also participating in the book fair were many talented Austin SCBWI members which included Lila Guzman, Brian Anderson, Francis Hill, Christy Stallop and Janice & Tom Shefelman,
just to name a few. Organized by SCBWI members Donna Bratton, Tim Crow & Carmen Oliver, the SCBWI Winter Book Fair was most enjoyable and certainly a big success!
